Garbage & Recycling
GARBAGE
Tennis Sanitation is the city’s exclusive residential garbage service. Curbside pickup is every Tuesday. To establish this service and to ensure accurate billing, please contact City Hall at 651-439-4439. They will take your household information and schedule container size for collection. You will receive a quarterly billing statement for utilities from the city.
Appliances and other large items can be scheduled for pickup at a per-item charge. Residents must contact Tennis Sanitation by 9:00 a.m. on the Monday prior to the next curbside pickup date. Typical items that are collected are:
-
Large metal household items including refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, humidifiers, stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers, water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, and water softeners
-
Household items too large to place in container, such as couches, sofas, chairs, dressers, beds, mattresses, desks, and tables
- Construction related items such as toilets, sinks, bathtubs, shower enclosures, and carpeting. For information on what the charges are, please call Tennis Sanitation.
If waste items cannot fit in the specified trash container but can fit into a 30-gallon plastic bag, residents may place the bag(s) next to the trash container on regular pick-up day. The resident will be charged $4.00 per bag. Such bags may not be overfilled so they break from basic handling by the garbage hauler.
The city has one clean up day per year. Residents will be notified of the date and location for this event.
